The fact remains that too much pirating will cause the labels to close down.
It costs around £6-700 to release a basic 12" with a colour label - more if u have a sleeve.
The shops can only sell them at the price that everyone else does - around £5.49 - £5.99 (vinyl), and they of course aren't gonna pay full whack for them.
Labels will get around £2.50 profit selling direct, or £1ish from shops. Distribution gets u no profit at all, and sometimes a small loss when postage charges come into play.
That's why there isn't many mp3 sales until the label has got most of the costs back from vinyl sales - once a digital mp3 is out there, it's all too easy to see it start appearing on these p2p progs.
Sure there are some people who will only buy vinyl, but how many people out there only get the vinyl because they can't get it for free??
As for mp3 prices, Darkus is charging 79p for older ones upto £1.20 for the newer ones. When u work out that those amounts get split between the shop owner & the label (after paypal costs), u can see that there isn't much money to be made, hence why they aren't even cheaper (as it just wouldn't be worth it for our limited sales).

The other problem is sharing of unreleased tracks - seems some 'pre-release' stuff being given out to DJs / Radio shows for a bit of air-play before release is also being shared out.
One unfortunate person this has happened to is DJ Sike. Due to this, the tune in question probably won't be coming out, therefore wasting weeks of work & cash in mastering costs.

Please think before sharing - we don't make tunes to get rich, but we also don't pay out all these costs to release stuff & not recover our costs due to pirating.

I agree that it is both a curse and a blessing using P2P programs to exchange files; I have to admit I've gotten a couple new tunes off m8 but to be blunt it is a matter of accessibility for me. I am in Canada, and getting releases is hard and very expensive. The easiest method for me to get tunes is electronically... ie mp3's, but the ability to buy new tunes in this form is rare. Yes there is HPZ mp3 shop and IMO but their selections are limited. If Producers and labels made their works available at a fair cost I am sure people will be more inclined to purchase the tunes instead of pirating them.

I don't think it's been released. If you give Inferno a shout via the B2VOS forum or something he might be able to sort you out.
