After the outstanding success of the B2VOS Hardcore Breaks Sampler Volume 1 we are pleased to bring you the 2nd instalment for your listening pleasure.
The Back 2 You remix project gives all producers, both experienced and beginners the chance to try their hand at reworking some of the biggest hardcore / drum & bass classics. A new track is selected from the Reinforced Records back catalogue every couple of months, and all entries are featured on the site for voting. Why not give it a try or check out the previous entries?
Drum & Bass heads will no doubt be familiar with the name of this magazine. This month they’ve ran a special 2-page feature on Hardcore Breaks, Rave Breaks, and J-Tek!

“Bringing it back to go forward” J-Tek Records was setup in June 2007 to fuse the classic vibes of early Jungle Techno with modern samples and the production skills of today. The label ethos is to open up the boundries between Jungle, House and Breakbeat.
This project involves several major players from the Drum & Bass scene including Randall, Digital, Outrage, and Modular.

Once again I’ll be doing a special annual show on Tuesday 8th January 2008 where I’ll be playing the best in Hardcore Breaks / Nu Rave from the past 12 months, as voted by you! Last year DJs and listeners voted Simon Holmes - Rave Be Good To Me as their favourite tune of 2006, who’s going to be this years winner?
The format of voting remains the same as last year. Please vote for your favourite 10 tunes from the past 12 months. It’s going to be a tough choice and so the order of the tunes isn’t important as all will gain points. You can submit your votes in several ways, either by posting a response to this thread, or by sending an email with your top 10 to bestof2007@breakpirates.com
The important stuff:
The results will be compiled and the top voted-for tunes played on the January edition of the show, taking place on Tuesday 8th January 2007!
Over the past couple of months its been noticed that more and more Hardcore Breaks releases are making their way onto the P2P networks soon after release. Some have seen this as being damaging to record sales, whilst others have seen it as valuable exposure of the scene to a wider audience. It’s a difficult one as potentially both views are perfectly valid.
