New & Unsigned – Best of 2007 – In association with Choice Records – http://www.choicerecords.co.uk

Once again I’ll be doing a special annual show on Tuesday 8th January 2008 where I’ll be playing the best in Hardcore Breaks / Nu Rave from the past 12 months, as voted by you! Last year DJs and listeners voted Simon Holmes – Rave Be Good To Me as their favourite tune of 2006, who’s going to be this years winner?

The format of voting remains the same as last year. Please vote for your favourite 10 tunes from the past 12 months. It’s going to be a tough choice and so the order of the tunes isn’t important as all will gain points. You can submit your votes in several ways, either by posting a response to this thread, or by sending an email with your top 10 to bestof2007@breakpirates.com

The important stuff:

  • List your favourite 10 Hardcore Breaks / Nu Rave tunes of 2007.
  • These do NOT have to be tunes that I’ve played on the shows through the year.
  • The tunes should have been either produced or released in 2007, so unreleased stuff is still valid.
  • Each tune voted for will receive ONE point, regardless of where it appears in your list, so position isn’t important.
  • You shouldn’t vote for your own tunes.

The results will be compiled and the top voted-for tunes played on the January edition of the show, taking place on Tuesday 8th January 2007!

During the show I’ll be doing a quick run-down of the top selling HCB releases during the last month courtesy of Choice Records.

As usual show time is 8:30pm – 10pm. Stream slots are limited and we usually fill the server so tune in early!

Hope to see you there!

Piracy in the HCB scene

Monday, August 20th, 2007

Over the past couple of months its been noticed that more and more Hardcore Breaks releases are making their way onto the P2P networks soon after release. Some have seen this as being damaging to record sales, whilst others have seen it as valuable exposure of the scene to a wider audience. It’s a difficult one as potentially both views are perfectly valid.
